The Epworth scale is rated from 0 to 3 in terms of sleepiness whilst performing certain tasks or scenarios. The test will give you a score that will indicate if you have a sleep apnoea problem.

Sitting and reading

Watching television

Sitting inactive in a public place, for example, a theatre or meeting

As a passenger in a car for an hour without a break

Lying down to rest in the afternoon

Sitting and talking to someone

Sitting quietly after lunch (when you’ve had no alcohol)

In a car, while stopped in traffic

1-6

Your score is average

7-8

                 Seek the advice of a sleep specialist without delay

9 and up
